2 Yard Skip Hire
A 2 yard skip is ideal if you require a solution for small waste removal. The 2 yard skip is small, however it is able to hold the equivalent of 25 bin bags worth of waste. A 2 yard skip is often referred to as a mini skip, which is due to its small size.
The 2 yard skip is popular among domestic households, however it can also be suited to commercial sites as a secondary backup skip. This popular skip can be used to clear small household waste and is cost efficient.
A mini skip has its advantages as it small and therefore only requires minimal space. This is perfect for when there is a restriction of space. Our 2 yard skips are an affordable rubbish removal solution, which is why they are so popular.
Is a 2 yard skip suitable for my requirements?
As mentioned previously, a 2 yard skip is suited to smaller jobs. A mini skip is able to hold up to 25 bin bags and is best suited to small DIY or domestic projects. That being said, a 2 yard skip can be used on commercial sites when a little extra room is required.
As a general rule of thumb, we suggest that you overestimate the amount of waste required to clear. This way you will be able to save on budget and time by ordering a bigger sized skip rather than overfilling a smaller skip. It is important that you follow skip guidelines, as an overfilled skip may be subjected to additional charges.
A mini skip is great as a secondary skip for plasterboard on a building site, as plasterboard is unable to be thrown away with mixed waste.
What can I put into a Mini Skip?
Whilst we cater for most types of waste here at Mackers we cannot take all waste. Our 2 yard skips are suitable for:
- Domestic waste
- Organic waste
What can I Not put into a Mini Skip?
It is worth noting that not every skip can hold every type of waste. There are some types of waste that are strictly prohibited:
- Gas Cylinders
- Hazardous Waste
- Electricals & Fluorescent Bulbs

Do I need a skip permit?
If you require our 2 yard skips to be placed on council land, such as public roads then you would require a permit from the council. Private land skip placement does not require a permit from the council, as the land is not owned by them. Common domestic placements for a 2 yard is skip is on the drive or even in the front garden.
